TODDLER
Ages: 12 Months to 3 Years
At Aspen Park Montessori, our Toddler Program builds on the warm, responsive foundation established in our Infant Program while introducing a more structured and engaging daily routine. As toddlers grow into their independence, curiosity, and emerging sense of self, we create an environment that both supports and challenges them in meaningful and developmentally appropriate ways.
Our blended Montessori-inspired classroom offers clearly defined learning and play areas, allowing children to explore materials with purpose and build confidence through hands-on experiences. These spaces are thoughtfully designed to promote early problem-solving, language development, creativity, and cooperative play while still honoring each child’s unique rhythm and interests.
A key part of the toddler experience is the introduction of structured instruction time (aka circle time) daily. During this routine, children participate in songs, stories, early academic concepts, and group activities that strengthen attention, communication, and social-emotional skills.
Toddlers also enjoy more consistent arts and crafts experiences, which support fine-motor development, creativity, and self-expression. Whether they are painting, gluing, exploring textures, or creating themed projects, these activities help reinforce learning in more fun and hands-on ways.
Throughout the day, our caregivers remain very engaged as they guide each child through exploration, modeling positive behavior, and nurturing each child’s growing independence. At Aspen Park Montessori, we strive to create a balanced environment where toddlers feel secure, challenged, and inspired as they take the next steps in their growth and development.
